Legacy is a natural Ethiopian that drinks like a bag of pick 'n' mix. Bold and fruity with strawberry laces, forest fruit and blueberry notes.

It's sourced through Mecota Trading, an Ethiopian exporter founded in 2023 by Moata Raya, who spent 15 years at TechnoServe helping producers find routes to market beyond the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange. Mecota consolidates microlots from smallholder farmers into exportable lots while keeping full traceability intact.

They currently work with 10 farmers across Ethiopia's growing regions, supporting them through processing to enhance quality. The coffee is grown in Bensa, in the Sidamo region, between 1,500 and 3,000 metres above sea level, from local heirloom varieties native to the Ethiopian highlands.

Natural processing is tradition in Ethiopia: cherries are dried whole so the sugars concentrate into the cup, building that bright, layered fruity profile. Once dried, the cherries are hulled to strip away the dried fruit and parchment, and the green coffee is sorted and bagged for export.
